Long time resident of the Central Coast, Rick moved here in 1970 when his family became the owners of Hurleys Pharmacy in San Luis Obispo. He attended Laguna Junior High and SLO High before entering Cuesta College with a focus on automotive repair and troubleshooting. He got his first Apple (a IIE) and moved up to the newly introduced MacIntosh computer in 1985. The mac versatility was immediately aparent to Rick and he utilized it's power to create everything from flyers to spreadsheets and databases. He was smitten and has since upgraded computers every two years including a number of portables. Having worked on virtually every computer model and utilizing just about every piece of software ever produced for MacIntosh computers, Rick is a great reference for both older Mac machines and the newest computers available.

Rick started MacServices in 1994 to help the variety of local MacIntosh users who needed the technical and consulting experience only he could offer. Since then the company has grown to include Apple Authorized onsite service and retail sales of Macintosh Computers, laptops, periferals and other networking hardware.
